I’m a Norwegian woman in my early thirties, -married and with two children, living in Oslo -the capital of Norway.
Here on my blog you will find postings on the garments I have made for myself and my husband, as well as other sewing related things, but not the things I sew for my kids. For now at least, I have chosen to keep this blog a children free zone.
In my professional life I have a BA in Art & Design from Høyskolen i Oslo,Norway, and I have worked with clothes professionally in one way or another since getting my degree in 2007 -though not as a seamstress. For six years I was employed in a Production Agency here in Oslo. My job was to monitor and aid the communication between clothing manufacturers in The Far East and clients in Norway wanting to produced clothes under their own brand. I am now otherwise employed, but I’m still working with production.
Ever since I can remember I’ve been interested in Arts & Craft, but after finishing school, sewing and making clothes gradually became my number one hobby. At present I try to make most of my own clothes as well as for those my two kids -underwear and technical clothes excluded. My sweet husband also gets a few garments a year.
The summer of 2014 I took my hobby one step further and participated in the Norwegian version of “The Great British Sewing Bee” -a concept from BBC. It was great fun to participate in a TV-production and I learned a lot. And lucky of me, I WON! Here I am together with all the other lovely contestants. Some of which have become personal friends of mine.
It’s my sweet husband that helps me to run this site, as well as giving me a lot of support for what I’m trying to do. His name is Sigvard Lyth and is a IT-technician by trade -which helps a lot. He is also the one taking a lot of the photos that I need for this blog. 🙂
